We told you fashion model Liu Wen landed an Estée Lauder contract back in April. Now we have a sneak peek of the behind the scenes photos from Liu Wen’s first major campaign with Estée Lauder, Wild Violet, available at Estée Lauder counters starting January 1, 2011.
What do you think of her look?
More photos after the jump.
[...] a previous post, we showed you sneak peeks of model Liu Wen’s next major ad campaign for Estée Lauder. But [...]
Liu Wen is definitely paving way for Asian Americans to be represented in mainstream media, as the first Asian to represent Estee Lauder & also to walk for Victoria’s Secret! (This reminds me of Michelle Phan’s success with Lancome.) While Liu, without a doubt, looks gorgeous in these photos, I couldn’t help but notice that her eye makeup seems to emphasize more of an almond shape, as if they’re trying to make her look more “Asian.” I don’t believe that eye shape defines one’s identity as an Asian, so I thought it was a bit unnecessary. I wished her makeup artist created more of a natural look for her-she has that natural beauty, I think she’d still look really pretty with little to no makeup on.
Yay for Asians!!! I love it when the Asian models don’t have really small, chinky eyes because I’ve noticed that the casting people always try to get people with small chinky eyes when it comes to Asian. The second photo posted, I wish her cheeks weren’t so orange with the orange blush or whatever they used. The last photo is pretty!!! That last photo makes me want to go to Estee Lauder and buy whatever they put on her face. LOL! I’m serious!!!
