Tina Tang sterling silver "Hammered Moon" necklace.

Ooo, are you guys in for a treat today!

We’ve worked with New York-based jewelry designer Tina Tang practically since the inception of Audrey Magazine seven years ago. Her designs are not just consistently lovely, she’s constantly tweaking and updating for just that of-the-moment flair. And one thing we’ve always noticed about her designs is that they look so much more beautiful and amazing on and in person than pictures could ever convey.

Case in point: Tina Tang’s sterling silver “Hammered Moon” necklace. So simple in its execution, and yet the detailing — the delicate chain, the handcrafted hammered texture that reflects light like you wouldn’t believe, and the perfect length so it hangs just under and between your collar bones, drawing all eyes to your best features. The silver has some serious heft and not only does it feel cool on your skin, it even made me look like I had some color. The perfect summer necklace.

I could go on and on, but I’m going to stop yammering now, except to say this. Tina Tang’s “Hammered Moon” necklace, which retails for $149, is yours for free if you win this week’s Thank Goodness It’s Free Fridays giveaway.

And a lucky second winner will get Tina Tang’s equally gorgeous “Crescent” necklace — a stunning sliver version of the Hammered Moon — which retails for $165. I’m so jealous!

My gosh, I just love hammered brass, hammered silver, hammered gold- any hammed something! I don’t quite know where this love came from, but here it is. Possibly because I love organic things, earthy substances like metals. And the moon has always been rather signature for me, as my Korean name is Kim Moon Young, Kim being my family name and Moon being closest to the American first name. Anyway, I really, truly happen to love everything about this design. ^_^
