My friends and I share a serious bond through our extreme love for Sailor Moon (and yes, we were excited about Sailor Moon Crystal), but when you share your obsession with your life partner AND on your wedding day, now that’s true love. Sailor Moon fans will definitely find themselves ogling at Michelle Nguyen’s Sailor Moon themed wedding. A friend passed this blog post onto me, and it’s only appropriate that I share it with our readers — or should I say fellow “Sailor Scouts.”
Michelle Nguyen, a contributing writer for Defective Geeks, pulled out all the stops for her wedding down to every little detail (even the bridesmaids nail art)!
If you want to see more pictures from the wedding and get a behind-the-scenes of how she created everything, head over to Defective Geeks blog post!

If you’re a Millennial and female, there’s a good chance that you grew up watching the Japanese anime Sailor Moon. At one point or another, you may have even dressed up as your favorite Sailor Moon character, either by yourself or with a group of your closest girlfriends. Well, after 17 years of waiting, our childhood anime is back!
The new reboot of the Japanese anime Sailor Moon, called Sailor Moon Crystal, premiered on July 5 on Japanese streaming sites as well as on Hulu. Fans all over the world hailed the return of our superwoman team, the storyline of which will reportedly follow the manga series.
Thinking about reliving your childhood and dressing up like Sailor Moon again, just for old time’s sake? Check out Style2Bones blogger Dominique Nghiem’s updated version of Sailor Moon-inspired looks. Maybe some early Halloween planning?
Yesterday, we showed you what happens when an artist re-imagines some of the most beloved Disney characters in the opposite gender. Today, we have yet another artist blowing us away with creativity.
An artist known as Jei Shepard caught our attention for this impressive artwork. Not much is known about this artist. In fact, all we know is a list of interests on Jei Shepard’s tumblr which include Iron Man, Avengers, X-Men, Batman, Supergirl, Mass Effect, Sailor Moon, Dragonball Z, Final Fantasy, BBC Sherlock, Grimm and Agents of SHIELD.
Luckily for us, Jei Shepard decided to take two of those interests for a crossover: Sailor Moon and the Avengers. The result is better than anyone could have expected.
Even though these girls aren’t actually Marvel superheros, they certainly look good in the outfits. Check it out below and be sure to support Jei Shepard’s art here.
Cosplay has been turning quite some heads lately. Just this week we showed you Japanese students who preferred intense cosplay outfits over graduation gowns. And don’t forget cosplay making it in mainstream media in Singapore with IKEA’s new online campaign.
As impressive as all that is, it doesn’t get the title of our all-time favorite cosplay. No, that title may actually go to these adorable puppies in hand-made cosplay outfits.
An instagram user named mayama_ya has an entire account dedicated to cute things that she makes. Lucky for us, her current interest has been these squeal-worthy cosplay outfits for her puppies.
The instagram account was only created early this month, but she has already gathered over 800 followers. So what’s so special about these outfits?
They are none other than Sailor Moon costumes.
Popular manga and animated series Sailor Moon is one of Japan’s most successful franchises. The English adaptations of both the manga and anime series became the first successful shōjo title in the United States. The franchise has not only stolen the hearts of Japan and the US, Sailor Moon has gained popularity worldwide.
It’s no wonder that these puppies are stealing hearts. Check them out below.
Do you feel that? That hard blow to the gut is childhood hitting you and bringing back memories of after-school afternoons spent eating Fruit Gushers and watching your favorite Sailor Scouts kick butt while wearing short skirts and heels.
Sailor Moon fans, rejoice: the Japanese online shopping site, Premium Bandai, has just announced plans to release six different pens resembling each of the Sailor Scout’s wands.
Due for release in May of this year, Premium Bandai has already sold out in their pre-orders but is planning on holding another pre-order event. Each pair is priced at 2,808 yen. The company has not yet confirmed whether they’ll be opening up purchases internationally.
The wands come in pairs and range in style, from Sailor Uranus & Sailor Neptune’s Lip Rods to Sailor Pluto’s Time Staff. You might be taking a math test or jotting down your grocery list, but at least in some way you’ll get to feel as if you’re fighting evil by moonlight.
