Even after 17 cycles, I still closely follow America’s Next Top Model (ANTM). Sure every week, every cycle, the girls go through hair and make-up, do photo shoots, walk the runway and the routine repeats over and over again, but something about the transformation the girls go through in the competition as models draws me in even after so many years. What always frustrated me though was the lack of Asian faces – seriously, I can probably count them up with just five fingers – so I was very excited when I heard about MYX TV’s new reality series Supermodel Me, which features ten aspiring female models of Asian descent fighting for their dream to become a supermodel and win the grand prize.
The reality TV show, which was shot in Singapore, premiered on MYX TV on February 15th. The contestants come from a variety of heritage backgrounds such as Indian, Chinese, Malaysian, Korean, Thai and Filipina. The models may be Asian, but the show appeals to anyone interested in viewing the glamorous and demanding world of fashion. “Our goal is to position Supermodel Me as an arena to showcase our Asian capabilities yet still appeal to a global audience with the input from international guests and judges,” said Karen Seah, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Refinery Media.
Catch Supermodel Me every Wednesdays on MYX TV at 10:30pm.

(Shown here getting all dolled up for the shoot.)
You see her break out in song-and-dance routines as Tina Cohen-Chang on Glee, and now you get the chance to see Jenna Ushkowitz strike a pose for the cover of Audrey’s Fall 2011 issue coming out in September. The Park Plaza Hotel was the perfect setting for the Hollywood glamour photo shoot with the 25-year-old Korean-American.

A little dancing never hurt anyone.
On the 18th of Saturday, I found myself at the Beverly Garden Holiday Inn in North Hollywood at the K-Pop TaKover, presented by MYX TV, featuring MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew Season 5 winners Poreotics and Movement Lifestyle. People of all ages, from kids as young as 6 and adults as old as 48, participated in a number of dance workshops, scheduled over the course of two days, to learn and improve their dance techniques. What made this convention unlike any other was the fact that this was the first ever K-Pop convention.
Great news!
We’re doing a FREE giveaway.. even though it’s not Friday!

Don’t miss out!
Earlier this year, Asian American-focused music network MYX went on a blogger-hunt in an effort to find fresh faces with big voices for their revamped website, MYX.tv. The search is over, and there are 16 new Asian American vloggers and bloggers from across the nation with different backgrounds and perspectives to best represent the new generation.
In a collision of media worlds, a more in-depth version of Audrey Magazine’s Olivia Munn behind the scenes photo-shoot will be premiering on MYX this Thursday, 5/5! (What better way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, eh?)
Just to remind you what sorts of sexiness you’ll be catching…
