In 2012, Phan became a YouTube advertising partner and launched FAWN (For All Women Network) — a women’s lifestyle network in which guest hosts produce videos about makeup, cooking, fitness, fashion and careers.

As it turns out, Phan’s fanbase extends beyond women and the following men have decided to show that off to the world. Three brave souls decided to take on one of Michelle Phan’s makeup tutorials with no previous makeup experience.

The results? The boys were left with black eyes, smeared makeup and a new-found appreciation for girls who have mastered the art of makeup. Check it out for yourself:

Michelle Phan’s Helpuful Trick: Using Ice to Stretch Out Shoes

Yesterday, popular makeup guru Michelle Phan tweeted an intriguing comment:

If you’ve been following Phan since 2009, then you may automatically know the answer to this. If not, we’re here to show off her incredible trick.

Have you ever gone home and realized that the pair of shoes you bought were too small, but it was too late to return them? Or maybe your favorite pair of heels were on sale, but only available in a size too small? Well Phan has just the trick for that.

The ziplock bags of water in her shoes are there to stretch it out. She explains that after popping the shoes (and water bags) into the freezer and allowing the ice to stretch it out, you can increase the shoe size.

Michelle Phan Doesn’t Wash Her Face In The Morning?

Last month, we showed you the rather horrifying results of sleeping with makeup on. Even more stomach-churning, we showed you what happens when you don’t handle blackheads.. for twenty-five years.

Needless to say, skincare is (or should be) important to all of us. The task is to find the right methods to make sure you keep your skin as healthy as possible. All over the web, you can find people who swear by their methods of skincare and provide secret tips for a clear face. Should all of this advice be listened to?

Certainly not.

Realbeauty.com, for instance, noted that toilet seat covers can be used as blotting sheets. While we don’t doubt this, we’re go ahead and pass on this beauty tip.

So who do we turn to? How about someone who has over 5 million YouTube subscribers and nearly one billion video views?

For years, viewers have trusted Michelle Phan with makeup tutorials, skincare advice, and now fans have been going crazy over her new makeup line, EM Michelle Phan.

So when Michelle Phan advises us to not wash our face in the morning, people were a bit caught off guard. But don’t worry, the makeup guru has a perfectly fine explanation for this. Huffington Post reports:

I don’t wash my face in the morning. I know that might sound gross to some people but essentially when you’re sleeping and your pillows are clean, all you need to do in the morning is wipe down [your face] with a wet cloth. A lot of the times when you’re constantly washing your face over and over again, it dries the skin and your skin will produce more oil which causes breakouts. So it’s all about keeping balance on your skin and applying a light moisturizer in the day time.

Michelle Phan’s Quick Secret to Painless Eyebrow Plucking

If you’ve spent years plucking your eyebrows, then you probably remember the very first time that those tweezers hit your brows. You distinctly remember the excitement quickly turning into horror after realizing that eyebrow plucking can be a painful ordeal.

Some of you are the lucky ones. You tolerate pain well and you’ve grown accustomed to your skin being pulled at. This thing has become a breeze after years of practice. Unfortunately, this is not the case for everyone.

Some girls experience blood every time they pluck. Others have skin so sensitive that the whole process brings tears to their eyes everytime. Even more peculiar, some have complained of the odd need to sneeze whenever they do their eyebrows.

The point is, plucking eyebrows is not always the most enjoyable of activities and Michelle Phan is here to help. The makeup guru has a quick and simple secret to pain-free eyebrow plucking:

1.) Soak a washcloth in hot water and wring dry

2.) Fold the washcloth in half and lay it over your eyebrows for 1-2 minutes

3.) Remove and pluck away!

Because heat and moisture are the main components in painless plucking, you can also benefit from plucking your brows after a shower or dipping the tweezers in warm water.

Be sure to check out Michelle Phan’s basic eyebrow tutorial and share some of your brow plucking secrets below:
