It may have taken a while to convert, but in recent months, I have become an admitted accessories fiend. Though I used to shy away from jewelry, handbags and the like, in recent years, I’ve found myself scouring shops and the internet looking to add to my ever-growing collection. Not helping my new found addiction, the trends predicted for this upcoming fall are ones that are exciting, yet accessible and can easily help update any fall wardrobe.
Check out some of the trends to look out for this fall after the cut!
The style-cognoscenti have been holding their breath waiting for H&M‘s latest designer collaboration with Marni, due out March 8. Here’s a look at the launch party last week held in Los Angeles, hosted by Marni’s Founder and Creative Director, Consuelo Castiglioni; the Director of the Marni at H&M campaign, Sofia Coppola; and Margareta van den Bosch, H&M´s Creative Advisor. Among the 200 guests were Frieda Pinto, Winona Ryder and Drew Barrymore.

Lighten up for spring! Hues straight out of candy shop, long chain handles (perfect for nonchalantly slinging across your body — even dressed up!), and a sprinkling of hardware add some levity to the new season.
Chinese Laundry’s quilted tote in a lovely lavender hue brings any khaki or all-white ensemble right into spring.
If I’ve noticed anything about the spring runways, it’s that I have to get me a good pair of socks.
Normally relegated to hiding under boots or as workout gear, socks are going to be seeing a resurgence this spring. Wear them scrunchy and paired with strappy heels, like at Burberry Prorsum, or knee high and nude to update last year’s ankle boot, like at Alexander Wang.
If you didn’t know by now, green is back.
It started with the palest jade nails and jade jewelry on Chanel’s Autumn/Winter 2009/2010 runway.
Then the black nail polish obsession morphed into a penchant for all shades green, from blackened emerald to opaque mint.
And if the Spring 2010 runways are any indication, the color so commonly associated with everything from envy to environmental consciousness is officially back on its own merits: As pure, unadulterated color.
Still model of the moment, Liu Wen wore head to toe peacock green on the Yves Saint Laurent runway, made cooler with pewter accents.
At 3.1 Phillip Lim, the hue of choice was a chartreuse-y lime, done up in satin and made edgy with sheer black.
Can’t do head to toe? Add a touch in your accessories, like the printed scarf and deep emerald earrings on Liu Wen on the Marni runway. (Looks so good with gold — still going strong for spring!)
Treat green like a neutral. Just a touch of olive at Jonathan Saunders adds edge to clean lines. Tao Okamoto in Jonathan Saunders.
The freshest way to wear green is mixed with a shade — any shade — of blue. Emma Pei in a brilliant emerald green Lela Rose dress.
Get in on this trend now. Accessories are the easiest way to go green; they’ll add a pop to your fall wardrobe, or a twinge of envy for the holidays.
