LV’s First Asian Male Face is a Godsend
Post by Janice • January 21, 2011 • Post a comment

Asians already don’t have much of a problem purchasing Louis Vuitton…everythings. (Bags, wallets, belts, shoes, hats, you name it, they’ve got it.)

But if they did, LV’s new ad will send them straight to the stores.

The luxury label has announced its  first-ever Asian male face and what a fine face it is. Meet 25-year old Taiwanese model, Godfrey Gao who appears in the spring campaign toting a Damier Graphite “Elvis” messenger bag. With the scruffy chiseled chin, smoldering stare and sun-kissed complexion, Gao is sure to dispel any notion that toting a man-bag is anything less than manly.

We know, we know, you’re welcome for this image.

Thanks to the Shanghaiist for the tip.

Who’s That Guy?

Why hellooo

I was casually flipping through the latest H&M magazine when I noticed an Asian guy in one of the main fashion spreads. It’s rare to see Asian models at all, much less Asian male models, and even rarer, one Asian male model with a bunch of white female models. I had to find out who this guy was.

Turns out, it’s Allen Tsai with Next Model Management. The 6’2″ model’s quite the star, at least by Asian male model standards. Gap, Esprit, cKone … that’s a pretty impressive resume.

Check out some more of his work here. And stop drooling.
