Leave it to Nicole Lee. The handbag company always has its finger on fashion’s pulse, knowing exactly what details and silhouettes are de rigeur. With this particular bag, you get chains and studs, popular now for the past couple seasons. But you also get the slashed effect that is everywhere now (there’s a whole style page on slashes and cut-outs in our Summer issue).
And at this price, you have no excuse not to get it. Treat yourself!
Growing up, “Grease” was one of my favorite movies. I loved Sandy, I loved Danny. I loved the songs. I loved the kooky Pink Ladies and the wanna-be T-Birds. I was in “Grease” heaven.
Of course, I never actually saw the movie as a kid. I wasn’t allowed to watch PG movies (“They don’t say parental guidance for nothing!”). But I did get the paperback that had all these movie stills in it, so I basically knew what the movie was about. It wasn’t till I was in college that I actually got to see the actual movie, from cartoon-drawn opening credits to Sandy waving goodbye as she and Danny flies away in their newly souped up car, Greased Lightning.
This jlouise handbag brings me back to those good ol’ days. (Well, at least the ’70s re-imagined version of the good ol’ ’50s). Faux patent red leather accented with a unique chrome “grill.” Even the handle is made of miniature box end wrenches. A poodle skirt and Betty Paige bangs and the look is complete.
Haven’t gotten your spring must-have nude-hue accessory yet? Be it a platform wedge, a khaki utility belt, or a carry-anywhere handbag, you need to get something in nude this season. It’s the easiest update to any wardrobe.
Well, now’s your chance, because handbag brand Rioni is offering this little beauty at a one-day only, guaranteed low price. With buttery soft Italian lambskin leather, double reinforced straps, and gorgeous leather ruffles perforated in tiny flower designs, the Rioni “Roushe” leather flutter bag in sand is the perfect addition to your handbag collection.
Sometimes my fashion brain just doesn’t work in the morning. Watercolor florals? Sorbet hues paired with nudes? Stripes a la nautical or punk rocker? It’s a bit much before my a.m. cuppa joe.
It’s days like that that I appreciate a really good handbag. One that instantly upgrades whatever I’m wearing, one that says “I’ve got style” on days when I feel less than stylish.
With Nicole Lee’s “Shelly” pin-print satchel, you’ve got several looks in one. One says sporty brights. Another says punk-chic rocker. Still another says you understand the importance of clashing materials, prints and colors for spring.
It’s nice to let your handbag do the talking sometimes, isn’t it?
