Let The Bullets Fly
A film by Jiang Wen
When and Where: March 2 in Cinema Village, NYC and Laemmle NoHo 7 in Los Angeles, March 9 at 4-Star in San Francisco
A 2010 action comedy film written and directed by Jiang Wen, “Let The Bullets Fly” is a stunning mix of dark comedy and eye-popping violence. In China, this action-comedy starring Chow Yun-Fat has become the highest-grossing domestic film of all time. Set in 1920s Sichuan, the film tells the tale of the bandit “Pocky” Zhang Mazi, who poses as a local governor in a dusty town- but finds himself at odds with the local mobster, who is not eager to share his turf with another drifter.
For all you cinephiles, it’s film festival season! From Indian films and retrospectives, to Visual Communications’ annual Asian film mega-fest, here are some happening this month you’re not going to want to miss (hint: Justin Lin, Dwayne Johnson and Sung Kang are back!).
