Forget Valentine’s Day, December is also one of the most popular months to pop the question. And, apparently, it was John Legend’s proposal month of choice. The soul singer proposed to his Thai-Norwegian model girlfriend, Christine Teigen, over the Christmas holiday weekend while the couple was vacationing in the Maldives.
Originally from Snohomish, Washington, Teigen made her debut in the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2010. Following their engagement, the couple, who have been together for over four years, flew to Thailand to spend time with Teigen’s parents and sister.
My first impression of Victor King was that he is “down-right-sexy.” Many of the celebrities I’ve interviewed agree that Victor is, indeed, attractive and a dreamer. Check out our video below to hear more of what celebs like Chester See, Ryan Higa, J.R. Aquino, Andrew Garcia, D-Trix, AJ Rafael, Wong Fu Productions, Dumbfoundead, Jennifer Chung, Jason Yang, Michelle Phan, Joseph Vincent, JK Films, Cathy Nguyen, David So, Quest Crew and Poreotics, both champions from MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew had to say about Victor:
It was great to see so many people out and support him on what is obviously a huge accomplishment. Congratulations Victor, I hope for you the best!
You know it’s time for the holidays to arrive when you start hearing Christmas carols on your local radio station.
The team here at Audrey wants to wish you happy holidays! (With a little help from our famous friends.)
Oh yea…and JOHN CHO and KAL PENN, of course!
One of my favorite movies of all time is Father of The Bride, specifically Martin Short’s character as an over-the-top wedding planner. Little did I know that Franck Eggelhoffer was based on the real-life inspiration of Korean American celebrity florist Kevin Lee.
Set to debut tomorrow night, October 28, Lee has teamed up with TLC and Renée Strauss, the no-nonsense owner of the Beverly Hills salon, Renée Strauss for the Bride, for the premier of The Brides of Beverly Hills.
The Brides of Beverly Hills is yet another matrimonial-themed show that TLC has decided to take down its programming aisle. The unscripted series is set in Strauss’ Beverly Hills salon that serves all sorts of high-end clients from the Los Angeles area. Lee is also no stranger to celebrity clientele, as he has previously done floral arrangements for Jennifer Aniston, Kendra Wilkinson, and Michael Jackson.
“TLC is the destination for wedding programming, and The Brides of Beverly Hills builds on the popularity of Say Yes to the Dress, Four Weddings, and our other successful series,” said Amy Winter, TLC General Manager, in a statement. “These brides and Renee’s business can only be found in one of the most talked-about towns in the country, and we know our audience will love this insider’s look at this premier wedding boutique.”
From music and movies to charity events and Halloween festivities, the last week of October is packed with happenings that will soothe your ears, warm your soul, and unleash your Halloween persona.

Lisa Ling, Margaret Cho, and Jan Yanahiro have joined other females to speak out on media’s poor representation of women in a new documentary out aptly entitled Miss Representation.
With shocking stats of the low percentage of women in power, combined with tell-tale images captured from various music videos, television shows, and computer games from the media, the trailer for the doc has already caught on like fire over the internet.
“The media can be an instrument for change, it can awaken people and change minds. It depends on who’s piloting the plane.” — Katie Couric.
What are your thoughts on the stats and statements made from the Miss Representation trailer?
DailyCandy’s new talking head isn’t just any head; it’s the lovely noggin of South Korean-born American television news correspondent, SuChin Pak. DailyCandy, an email Newsletter based in New York, has recently hired Pak to be their woman about the town and on TV.
Although she had to undergo a grueling interview for the position, for most viewers, Pak won’t need much of an introduction. Pak is easily recognizable from her frequent appearances on MTV as part of their news team. She also appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show in 2007 to discuss her struggles with confidence and beauty issues relating to being an Asian American woman.
Pak’s interests and knowledge base are seemingly vast, as she is the founder of Hester Street Fair, an alfresco small biz bazaar in New York’s Lower East Side, as well as the host for the National Constitution Center’s “The Exchange,” a program where high school students to discuss their views on relevant constitutional issues.
Check out Suchin’s charming job interview here.
Lucky for Pak; her extensive resume, Mad Men aspirations, and charming head shot were just enough to land her a position with DailyCandy. Unfortunately for us, with her experience and sweetness, it looks like we’ll be making a trip to the dentist sometime soon.
“Is that a toaster?” asked a random stranger (or should I say creeper?) as he points to my roommate’s phone. I have no idea why someone would try to start a conversation in that bizarre way, but whether bad or good, we’ve all heard them – pick-up lines. We always share these funny stories with our friends, so why not share them online where you can win a walk-on role for the premier episode of Millions?
Call it the spring mating season. Call it my biological clock ticking. But recently I’ve been seeing babies everywhere. And even though I’m totally biased and it’s probably totally not cool to say, you gotta admit that Asian babies are the cutest babies. Ever. It’s just a fact. Even Hollywood seems to think so. Here’s a look at some of the cutest famous Asian babies. (I’m not ranking them ’cause that would be really not cool.)
Brangelina Babies | Maddox Jolie-Pitt
The Brangelina clan has tons of cute babies, from Shiloh to Zahara to Pax. But the one nearest and dearest to my heart will always be the first-adopted: Cambodian American Maddox Jolie-Pitt.
Teen shows seem to offer richer opportunities for young Asian American actors these days. But what’s it like actually being “that Asian on that show”? We find out from actresses Ashley Argota (True Jackson, VP), Jolene Purdy (Gigantic) and Nikki Soohoo (The Lovely Bones) in our teen roundtable.
