Jay Hayden: How much my parents mean to me. I’m a boy… Boys leave home as fast as they can. My whole thing growing up was to get away from my parents and to be rebellious and struggle and get out and see the world and be my own man. What people don’t know about me is how much I love my parents and how much I appreciate and still am so thankful for everything they did for me. [They taught] me to be the person that I am and how to treat other people, and that there’s something to learn from every person you come across in this life. I never call, I never talk about them, [but] they influence me every day of my life.
