From swimwear to contemporary lines to evening gowns, Audrey’s Fashion Night Out was certainly a show filled with variety. Don’t worry, we’re not planning on keeping it all a secret from those of you who weren’t there (but then again, why would you have missed it?) We are here to show you some snapshots from the show! There’ll be more in our Winter issue, so be sure to get it when it comes out!
In the midst of our very fabulous 2011 fashion show, Audrey’s Fashion Night Out, one of my favorite things to get all wrapped up about is the clothes.
This year, we have seven FABULOUS designers showcasing their wears. Just looking at their Fall/Winter look books got me all hot and bothered.
Here are some of my favorite picks from each line.
Look at those ruffles! And that sweet bow on the side of the gray pencil skirt? I can definitely see myself with this sexy secretary look around the office.
LA Fashion Week has come and gone but besides the onstage drama, there were some backstage ones going on as well!
Due to mismanagement on show permits, shows held at LA Production Studios on Thursday, October 21 were canceled. Many of the designers (most of which are fresh faces) were unable to showcase their work. However, instead of just packing up and going home, some of these designers took an alternative route and held a press reception/bloggers cafe in conjunction with Fashion Los Angeles, displaying their designs atop a downtown studio flat for selected press to check out.
The designers in attendance were Daisy Gonzalez, and Paulina Lopez and Anh Volcek with her L’une collection. You may remember, Audrey Magazine was a proud sponsor of Ms. Volcek’s canceled show. The Vietnamese designer has been on our radar since winning a gold thimble from the Parson’s School of Design.
Volcek’s designs have a clean and simple appeal to them, an style that makes sense once you find out she used to work for fashion houses like Nautica, Gap, and Calvin Klein. Each dress is named after a close friend and and the aura of life that surrounds that woman.
With plenty of drinks chilling by the sink and bloggers milling about, this showcase was definitely a far more intimate affair compared to the canceled fashion show. But with press and guests invited to touch the fabrics and get a up-close look at them draping off the models, fashion definitely got a lot cozier.

Come join Audrey Magazine for the Spring 2011 launch of Anh Volcek’s debut collection for her women’s wear line L’une at Los Angeles Fashion Week.
French for “one,” L’une is about becoming one with your clothes, and to that end, Volcek creates a line of dresses that are as comfortable as they are beautiful. The Parsons School of Design honor grad honed her old world draping techniques in Paris from a patternmaker who worked for Dior and Louis Vuitton, before fine tuning her skills at the couture house of Koji Tatsuno and Lapidus. The Vietnamese American designer, who was born at sea on the Pacific Ocean in 1975, has also worked at Calvin Klein, Nautica and Gap.
Missed Audrey’s Night Out, or just want more fashion? Join us at L’une’s debut this Thursday, October 21! Just RSVP at rsvp@lunecollection.com.
