PAGE TURNER: The Asian American Literary Festival

It is rare to see literary festivals catering specifically to Asian American writers. Luckily, Brooklyn’s Asian American’s Writers Workshop is putting on their third annual PAGE TURNER: The Asian American Literary Festival.

The event comes in time to celebrate the organization’s 20th birthday. The festival will feature an all-day line-up of award-winning writers, including Junot Diaz, Amitav Ghosh, Kimiko Hahn, Hari Kunzru, Teju Cole, Jayne Anne Phillips, and many others. The evening will conclude with a stage reading directed by Ralph Pena to honor the recipient of this year’s Asian American Lifetime Achievement Award, the legendary Jessica Hagedorn.

In addition to the writer’s showcase, the event will also include an appearances from TV chef Eddie Huang, Korean taco trucks, policy wonks, and stand-up comedians.
