The Huntresses’ Kang Ye Won, Ha Ji Won, and Ga In (of Brown Eyed Girls).
This is the kind of genre that Ha Ji Won is meant to do: she’s undoubtedly one of South Korea’s best female action stars. I’ve always enjoyed her in comedies more (there’s something about her that shines through in comedic type roles). In the first teaser trailer for The Huntresses, she plays the leader to a trio of bounty hunters, set in the Joeson Era. Kang Ye Won (El Condor Pasa) plays the housewife who’d rather use her kitchen knives for fighting off bad guys and Son Ga In (of Kpop girl group Brown Eyed Girls) plays the youngest member, the best fighter of the the three. The movie comes out in May, but hope this teaser trailer will hold you until then!
Is she gorgeous – or is she GORGEOUS?! G.I.: Retaliation star Elodie Yung graces our Spring 2013 cover, looking fresh and feminine – something that’s much different from her role as Jinx. She told us she has very little modeling experience – but she’s quite modest, I think she did perfectly fine.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Elodie in our cover story – and I can tell you it was one of those once in a lifetime experiences. As a Cambodian American woman working in the entertainment industry, I’m happy to see another Cambodian woman rising up as an actress. She’s one of the most down to earth women I’ve ever met – and I’ll never forget the stories we shared growing up as Cambodians in our respective hometowns (hers Paris, mines Long Beach). And yes, I made my Creative Director Diana King cry with the story — success!
Please check out our Spring 2013 issue when it hits newsstands – we’ll let you know when it’ll be ready for sale!
Korean actor Lee Byung-hun and French Cambodian actress Elodie Yung both star as Storm Shadow and Jinx respectively in the upcoming G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation. Check them make look kicking ass so easy in this preview clip (the four minute version will be shown before Hansel and Gretel this Friday).

I’ve spent the last week-and-a-half vegetating on my bed, staying up all night from the adrenaline rush I get from the gore and suspense of Dexter. Now that I’ve aced through all five seasons, I have nothing to occupy my now TV-addicted brain. (Whomp Whomp).
Fortunately for it (and maybe not so fortunately for my job hunt), summer has just started, meaning MORE TV!
We got life coaching from a canine, robots in America, and… sexy lawyers. All for you, this summer.
It’s been a while since a movie has really tickled my fancy but when I walked out of a sneak peek of The Green Hornet, I could not wait to tell all my friends to get the car ready for their next movie night.
Starring Seth Rogen and Taiwanese pop star Jay Chou, The Green Hornet– not to be confused with that other Green movie also coming out this year with sexyman Ryan Reynolds — tells of a spoiled son of a media tycoon who decides to fight crime by pretending to be bad guys. Chou is his sidekick-who-really-does-all-the-work, Kato.
Directed by Michael Gondry (after HK superstar Stephen Chow left the job) and co-written by Rogen, I was surprised by how good the film was. The lines were funny but sweet, the action left me at the edge of my seat and the casting was excellent, albeit unexpected. Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds) killed it (pun, har har) as the villain and Rogen had you rooting for his bratty character.
But I was most impressed by Jay Chou’s Kato — a fully fleshed-out Asian character who was mistaken as the sidekick but was the real hero of the show. The Green Hornet showed off Chou’s singing, lady-wooing, comedic and ass-kicking skills. That’s a lot of skills! I didn’t even care that I could hardly understand Chou’s English half the time. (This is Chou’s American film debut so we forgive him.)
The reviews are also rolling in and they’re really good!
But you don’t have to believe our critiques of the film. Let’s have some of the stars convince you.
The Green Hornet Hollywood premiere will be streaming live tonight at 9:30PM EST/6:30 pm PST and you can catch it right on Audrey’s website. Check back then. Rogen, Chou, Cameron Diaz, Michel Gondry, Jonah Hill, Judd Apatow, Stephen Lang, Anna Faris and Tom Green are just some of the stars slated to appear on the red carpet.
The Green Hornet will be released in theaters nationwide on January 14, 2011. Jay Chou is also part of Audrey’s Winter Personalities. Purchase issue here.
