If you never got a chance to experience Japan and its culture of simplicity, don’t worry because now you can. The CHAYA family of restaurants has finally marked its territory on the busy streets of Downtown, Los Angeles. To usher in the summer season of outdoor events and live music all in the pleasantly warm weather, CHAYA DTLA is hosting its annual Japanese Summer Beer Garden event. Happening every Monday-Friday, from 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM, Audrey went in to see what the rave was about.
Staying true to the spirit of summer, the diners of the Japanese Summer Beer Garden event sat outside under strings of Japanese paper lanterns, basking in the warm LA weather. With the live American music, Japanese Yakitori skewers, and a number of imported Japanese beers, diners of CHAYA DTLA’s event could truly experience Asian Fusion dining as well as Japan’s importance of purity and simplicity. Cooked to perfection on a griller that was shipped directly from Japan, the Yakitori skewers had a clean and simple taste. No matter how many Chicken Skewers, Beef Skewers, and/or the Bacon Wrapped Date Skewers one consumed, the heavy feeling of grilled food and necessary oily ingredients will never loom over body. Even the alcohol had a simple, clean taste to them so that you can have your cocktail, beer, or sake without it dominating your meal. Instead, it’s refreshing and completely washes down your food.
Grab some great company – and make sure to stop by CHAYA DTLA for their Japanese Summer Beer Garden event. The special event lasts until Friday, August 31, 2012 – so hurry!
