Now that Downton Abbey is done, I’m in some serious need of a good ol’ fashioned love story. I’ve been looking forward to Freida Pinto‘s next film, Trishna, due out next Friday, but now I, along with you, our Audrey readers, can watch the movie for FREE and talk to Freida Pinto herself about the film!
Trishna is a modern-day retelling of Thomas Hardy’s classic novel Tess of the D’Ubervilles. Trishna lives with her family in a village in Rajasthan, India’s largest state, working at a nearby resort to help pay the bills. Jay (Riz Ahmed) is the wealthy son of a property developer who meets Trishna while managing the resort. It’s a match traditional Indian society frowns upon, but when the young couple moves to Mumbai to make a go of it, Jay’s allegiances are tested.
Trishna, starring Freida Pinto, Riz Ahmed, Roshan Seth, and Anurag Kashyap, and directed by Michael Winterbottom, opens in New York and L.A. on July 13, with additional U.S. cities added July 20 and 27.
If you can make it, RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org. See you there!
