Why did you decide that Kimora: House of Fab was a good, new opportunity for you?
JustFab presents a truly unique business proposition. The way we develop product and bring it to market is thrilling, and I wanted to tell that story in a docu-reality format.
What are you hoping to achieve with JustFab today and in the future?
My commitment to this company and all of my other businesses is to deliver chic, quality products at an inclusive price point. In the future, we’ll continue to find innovative ways to pair our customer with accessible style.
What is your biggest accomplishment so far?
I have an amazing family and a home filled with love, which has been my true goal throughout my life. Also, I do what I love for a living. That is priceless!
How do you balance being a mom and a fashion mogul?
I focus on prioritizing and doing the work that’s in front of me. All working parents worry about what they’re missing. That’s universal. For working moms, picking up that “second shift” can be a killer, regardless of how much help they may or may not have. My advice is to maintain focus and stay cool. Find ways to honor yourself, however you define that.
What are some of your current passions outside of JustFab?
My girls and I have been spending a lot of time finding new ways to express themselves as designers and creators, so I spend time brainstorming new activities that we can do to help them explore.
What is your signature scent?
My favorite fragrance lately is in the hydrator from my skincare line, Shinto Clinical. It’s called Smooth Answer and has Japanese cherry blossoms in it.
What does your daily skin care regimen consist of?
My regiment is what I like to refer to as a “heightened reality.” My work includes makeup, so the things I do, and the order and frequency in which I do them, are abnormal. However, I believe in exfoliation. I have an anti-aging scrub called Micro Manage that exfoliates chemically and mechanically. It has the same magnesium oxide cyrstals used in professional microdermabrasion machines. A great scrub can do a lot for anyone!
What are your top beauty tricks?
I tell anyone who will listen to switch to silk pillowcases because they help keep your nightly serums and creams on your face where they belong. And never go anywhere without lip balm and a pair of dark shades.
House of Fab also features Filipino American Johnny Anastacio.
Bio (from House of Fab‘s site)
Johnny Anastacio is the Senior Graphic Designer at JustFab and is tasked with designing the print ads and website content for the expanding shoe company. Anastacio majored in statistics at UC Berkeley, but taught himself graphic design at the school library. From there, he immersed himself into the fashion world and began working as a visual merchandizer for several retailers in San Francisco.
Prior to working at JustFab Anastacio interned at the TOMS Shoes corporate office in Marina Del Rey where he delved into the shoe industry. His career took off when he met Mossimo Gianulli and landed his first design job at Gianulli’s menswear label, Modern Amusement.
Always dressed to impress, Anastacio lives by one style mantra: “Put classy next to playful, sexy next to fun, and wear serious with irreverence.”
He currently resides in Los Angeles.
