Now that New York Fashion Week is done, London Fashion Week kicks off. And it’s great to see all the Asian faces strutting down the catwalk. Here, some familiar names, like Shu Pei Qin, and some new ones, too.
Editor’s note: the oversized utility coat gets a winter makeover for fall and continues to be huge into the new season. Get a spring one now to get a jump on the trend. I also love how olive green looks with a bronzey, burnished gold.
Nathan Jenden shows an icier, fresher version of the utility coat, as shown on newcomer Fei Fei Sun below. Sun made an appearance on several London runways. Wonder if she’ll make it Stateside soon.
Another new face is Ming Xi, who walked the Erdem show.
And of course, there were the more familiar faces, like Korean model Hyoni Kang who is still going strong, walking catwalks all over New York as well as London..
And finally, Tao Okamoto, the reigning favorite among the Asian models. She of the coveted bowl cut walked so many shows, here at Central Saint Martins grad and under-the-radar favorite Mary Kantrantzou, in one of her fabulously graphic techno baroque prints.
And just for fun, to get Tao’s look above, here’s the M*A*C face chart for the show:
