It’s one thing to be born into an interracial family, but it’s another thing to come home after being away for 2 years and unexpectedly find yourself suddenly part of one. Wong Fu Production’s new mini-series, in association with a FremantleMedia Company – “Home is Where the Hans Are” – shows how this unanticipated surprise might just be what Derek needs most as he returns home after realizing his dreams are getting him nowhere.
Featuring Ellen Wong and Randall Park along with Jamie Nocher, Major Cuda, Julie Lancaster and Emanuel Borria, the series aim to “show a general audience who might not be used to seeing Asians as a typical TV family, that seeing our faces in these roles should not be strange,” as stated in Wong Fu’s commentary. “It’s about emotions everyone can understand and a family trying to reconnect.”
