Sixty dollars will never get you as much food and diverse cuisines than it will this weekend as the LA Street Food Fest presents its annual Summer Tasting Event. From restaurants setting up shop for the day to gourmet food trucks, you can sample the finest foods in LA within three hours . . . without having to trek all over the city. There’ll be more than 60 vendors on hand, preparing fresh samples for you, along with entertainment and giveaways.
Indonesian Festival 2011

Experience Indonesia and Asian countries’ traditional dances, art and foods. This annual festival combines various cultures through artists and musicians along a closed off Mariposa Avenue. There are 20 groups of dancers, local talents and well-known Indonesian singers.
The event also marks 66 years of Indonesian Independence.

The Young Professionals’ Group strives to provide the resources for success to the new generation of doctors and lawyers. Because of the recession, the print industry has been forced to undergo mass layoffs. In January 2008, the news industry has shed more than 46,000 jobs, according to UNITY Journalists of Color. Because of the instability of the job market, a lot of journalists have chosen to see other career options. Check out this AAJA (Asian American Journalists Association) panel to hear what some career writers have to say about “Life After Journalism.” Speakers include former LA Times staffers Peter Hong, Evelyn Iritani and Daniel Yi, and former City News Service editor Richard Fruto.
