Every woman’s face or body has a different story to tell. We may be bombarded by the mainstream media’s message of what beautiful is supposed to be, but we know that beauty comes in all shapes, colors, and sizes. Here, an Asian American woman proves it.

“Since I was a teenager, my body was not like any of my petite classmates who had just nipples, no boobs,” says Doris Tang with a laugh. “I always associated the reason I couldn’t get a date was because of my body — because I was supposed to be petite and no one wanted me,” says the Chinese American.
Doris began a round of “up and down” diets, from not eating to only eating vegetables or one apple a day. “I tried it all,” she remembers. “The only thing I didn’t try were the pills because I didn’t want to be that dangerous.” Any weight Doris lost always came back after she got off the diets, so she finally tried something different. She started to accept her body the way it is. Doris realized that “my issue of not having a boyfriend is not really about my body. It’s all about what I feel inside.”
As for her dating life? “I’m dating,” she says shyly. “So far, it’s good. I tend to date guys who appreciate the intellectual aspect of me and the physical second.”

Very inspiring. When it comes to the body, health is all that matters. It shouldnt matter what you look on the outside, but the inside and for people to see that, that’s what makes them even more special
