As summer winds down, it’s time to update your wardrobe with the newest trends for fall. As strange as it may seem, your shoes are one of the first things others notice about you. Make an impression with these must-have shoes.

Loafers are officially the new flats. However, this doesn’t mean you need to rock Sperry Top-siders to your next dinner party. The new loafer is sleek, elegant, and versatile. Loafers are appropriate for the office and the bar, making them the perfect shoes for a day-to-night outfit. As an East Coaster, I firmly believe that quality rain boots are a worthwhile investment. When you are wearing rain boots day after day, it is important that they are not only comfortable, but also stylish. For the past few years, I have been a loyal buyer of Burberry rain boots. No one makes rain boots like the Brits. However, this season many designers are offering rain boots that are definitely worth consideration, including Valentino.

Tall Black Boots

Nothing is hotter than a pair of tall black boots. They instantly add edginess to any outfit. Wear them over leggings or show a touch of skin by pairing the boots with a mini skirt. The must-have color for the fall is burgundy. There’s no better place to incorporate this hue than in your shoes. Create a luxurious outfit with burgundy velvet booties, like these from Christian Louboutin, or add a bit of funk by rocking Ash burgundy kicks.

Pom poms have always adorned scarves, beanies, and other wintertime accessories. It is only natural that as the weather gets colder, we place pom poms on our shoes as well. While these fur adornments won’t keep your feet warm, they sure do look cute and are perfectly in style.
