Born and raised in Southern California, Olivia Ouyang decided to leave paradise and venture to the East Coast for college. As a rising junior at Amherst College, she writes for the school magazine, The Indicator, as well as for the blog, Her Campus Amherst. Olivia figure skated competitively for ten years and now enjoys choreographing and dancing for Amherst Dance. She is a shopaholic and a major foodie. The company consists of five separate collections—Enzoani, Blue by Enzoani, Modeca, Love, and Love 16. From your prom to your wedding, Enzoani has you covered. Known for their lace and the quality of their materials (all of their crystals are Swarovski), Enzoani creates pieces that not only look beautiful but also feel luxurious. Since I can remember I’ve always been eating my Nai Nai’s (dad’s mom’s) cooking. She’s now over 95 years old and continues to be incredible, bustling around and constantly feeding me. I recently spent time at home and my most important mission during my visit was to spend time with her learning how to cook the dishes I had grown up loving. Like most chefs, my Nai Nai does not believe in exact measurements. “Just look at it,” she says “Taste it,”—and that’s how I learned to make the necessary adjustments. So, for those who prefer more precise measurements, here are two of my Nai Nai’s recipes quantified.

It’s summertime which means heat and humidity. Here are a few easy braids that will keep your hair out of your face. The best way to learn how to braid is to practice, practice, practice! Each braid can be worn in various ways so try a different style out every day!

A secret tip: Rub in a leave-in conditioner or serum before braiding your hair (I like to use unrefined coconut oil). It not only makes your hair easier to braid, but it also sinks in and conditions damaged hair. At the end of the day, rinse it out.
