When in doubt of your makeup, go for color on your lips to either brighten up your face or divert people’s eyes to one part of your face. Putting on a bold color or texture to your lips could also be the perfect touch to a simple and neutral face palette.
The season of bright colors may be slowly coming to an end, but this doesn’t mean you don’t have to stop having fun with color. To make fall shopping easier for you, we’ve already tried out a few lip color from Mac and Nyx cosmetics so you’ll know exactly what to buy the next time you step inside a makeup store.

We’ve already spotted our fall obsessions from Nyx’s matte lip lines. The texture and appearance of matte on your lips give us the freedom to play with any color we want for the fall season. The color sans shine downplays the brightness of the hue in a subtle way making it appropriate for fall’s cooler temperatures. Whether it’s a bright, bold color or even an outrageous color, Nyx’s matte lipstick and/or lip cream looks and feels just right.
Due to the fact that the matte sticks and glosses weren’t overloaded with moisture and shine it was easier to apply and shape our lips. In addition to the easy application, the color stayed on longer and it stayed put. The matte lipstick colors we liked were: “Strawberry Daiquiri,” “Tea Rose,” “Summer Breeze,” and “Whipped Caviar.” From Nyx’s Soft Matte Lip Cream collection we liked: “Amsterdam” and “Tokyo.”

When we think of Mac cosmetics we may tend to categorize it as a slightly heavier and richer makeup, but the “lipglasses” and lipstick we tried on didn’t weigh down our lips. While staying true to the vivid quality of its makeup, both the lipglasses and lipstick went on without emphasizing every crevice of our lips. They had the perfect amount of moisture and shine without making our lips look like a tacky ice skating rink. The colors from the CremeSheen Glass line we liked were: “Floating Lotus” and “Paper Lantern.” Both colors were subtle and pretty enough to pair with any eye shadow or blush colors. From its lipstick collection we recommend you to try on “Pure Zen.”
