Name: Ki-Chun Wang
Country: South Korea
Sport: Judo
Ht/Wt: 5’7’’/160 lbs.
Birthdate: September 13, 1988

Judo may not be a popular sport, in the Olympics and in general, like swimming and track but Ki-Chun Wang might bring the deserved recognition to the modern martial arts sport. At 19-years-old, Wang became the second youngest world champion ever in 2007 and took home the gold medal that year. Two years later, he claimed his second gold. Then that following year in 2010, Wang won the bronze medal in the World Championships. As far as the Olympics, he entered as a favorite to win, but suffered from a fractured rib and achieved the silver. However, we hope that Wang goes all the way this year and we’ll definitely be cheering him on all the way through.

Name: Jong-Hun Shin
Country: South Korea
Sport: Boxing
Ht/Wt: 5’7’’/106 lbs.
Birthdate: May 5, 1989

Jong-Hun may be only 23-years-old, but there’s no stopping him in the boxing ring especially in his first Olympic ring in London. Representing South Korea, Shin is on our radar and will definitely keep an eye on him seeing that Amateur International Boxing Association ranked him #1 as the light flyweight.

Shin is 1 of only 2 representing South Korea boxing at the London Olympics, and although this will be his first time at the international sports competition, Shin has already matches under his boxing gloves. He took home the bronze medal at the 2009 World Amateur Championship and in 2011 he won his first gold against the Olympic champion Singh Amandeep at the 2011 Asian Confederation Boxing Champions. Fox Sports claims Shin is a rising star in South Korea. BoxingProspects.com is waiting anxiously for him to turn pro, but in the meantime we’re excited to see the young 23-year-old boxing his heart out in London.
